heila2013, The change of the year is as meaningless as Christmas in my way of thinking. Your concept of “. . . symbolic new beginning, with new hopes and leaving old and maybe not so good stuff behind. . . is something that should be done EVERY moment! But we each approach thing differently and if that works for you than more power to you. So I hope you have a very happy new year.
